Emerald
The green of emerald is unlike any other in nature — a deep, vivid green that has captivated civilizations for thousands of years. From the mines of Colombia to the ancient treasures of Egypt, emerald has always been a stone of royalty and passion.
We seek emeralds with rich, saturated color and natural character. Many of our emeralds are unheated and no-oil, the rarest and most natural form of this already precious stone.
What to look for: Color saturation first, then clarity. Minor inclusions (“jardin”) are natural and expected in genuine emeralds.
Ruby
Ruby is the king of gemstones — a fiery red that has symbolized passion and power for centuries. The finest rubies display a pure red with a subtle fluorescence that makes them glow from within.
We source natural rubies from Burma and Mozambique, prioritizing vivid red color and natural clarity. Each ruby in our collection is independently certified.
What to look for: Color is paramount. The ideal ruby is a pure, vivid red — not too dark, not too light.
Sapphire
While blue is the most famous sapphire color, this remarkable gemstone actually comes in a rainbow of hues — from vivid padparadscha (pink-orange) to golden, purple, and teal. Each color tells a different story.
We offer both classic blue sapphires and rare fancy sapphires, sourced from Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and Burma. Many are unheated — the rarest and most valuable form.
What to look for: Color purity and intensity. For blue sapphires, look for a vivid, velvety blue without too much darkness.
Paraiba Tourmaline
Discovered only in the 1980s, Paraiba tourmaline displays an electric, neon-like blue-green that looks lit from within. It is one of the rarest and most sought-after gemstones in the world.
Our Paraiba tourmalines come from the original mines in Brazil and newer sources in Mozambique. Each one is natural and untreated, displaying the signature copper-caused glow.
What to look for: That electric, neon glow. Genuine Paraiba tourmaline has a brightness and saturation unlike any other blue-green stone.
Spinel
For centuries, spinel was mistaken for ruby — the famous “Black Prince’s Ruby” in the British Crown Jewels is actually a spinel. Only recently has this remarkable stone received the recognition it deserves.
Spinel offers exceptional brilliance and fire, often at a more accessible price than ruby. We love spinel for its vivid colors, natural clarity, and excellent durability.
What to look for: Vivid color and exceptional clarity. Spinel is typically unheated, making it one of the most natural colored stones available.
